The dark side of Master slave dynamics can often encompass ugly behaviours stemming from envy, and jealousy. These are generally borne out of deeply rooted insecurities which certain situations can trigger. Their exposure can conjure up devastating guilt, dread, shame and fear of abandonment, loss. Sometimes we are aware, often not, of that which is dark in us; our tendency is to hide it, deny its existence, we rarely seek to face it. However, there is certain blessing in that most of us are wired with a deep compulsion to explore the underbelly of our psyche, and in doing so, bring it into the light to affirm and validate our authentic broken selves. That is the ‘grace’ in the dark side of dynamics.

Drawing on personal and professional experiences, slave Caroline offers some provocative thoughts on the beneficial function of envy and jealousy in our Master slave dynamics.

Being in control, self determined, independent, having strong individually focused ego structures, pursuing pleasure through avoidance of pain, are paradigms and concepts promoted by our vanilla society that define good mental emotional health. What we do in our community is antithetical to the beliefs built into western psychological practices and paradigms. In our community, we take control/surrender control, choose not to be self determined, intentionally surrender egos, and deliberately inflict or seek pain sometimes for pleasure.

Increasingly more of us do so with an intuitive understanding that at times what we do is ‘therapeutic’. Some in our community further the belief of this therapeutic factor as a beneficial structure for Master slave dynamics. Is it? If so, when do we know when therapeutic is not therapy? Drawing from her personal and professional experiences, slave caroline seeks to examine the intrinsic value and danger of this “therapeutic” function in our Master slave relationships.

From Doms who feel entitled to the bodies and submission of every femme sub they meet, to consent violations, to the image of Masters as cold stoic beings without feelings, male expectations, privileges, limitations, and feelings of entitlement inherited from the vanilla world have spilled over into our kink lives with disastrous results.

What does it mean to honor not just the person wearing leather, but, more importantly, the leathers themselves? How do we honor the animal spirit who we come to touch, whether through ownership or service on the stand? To approach Leather spiritually, one must revere the life given — oftentimes lost — for us to adorn ourselves with leather.

 

In this experimental class, Cody Coyote invites attendees to consider where and how we gain our understanding of power, power dynamics, alternative relationships, mastery, and submission. What does power literacy look like? Why does this happen? The answer to that question is complex. So in part 2, we will begin to tackle this issue by looking at what is known about the link between sexual assault and identity disruption. You will learn to recognize signs that you or someone you love might be experiencing identity disruption and learn ways to reduce the changes of the disruption causing long term negative consequences. Finally, information on how to provide support will be offered for Owners of slaves who have experienced assault and survivors will be given a brief look at ways they can seek support in their healing journey

This presentation aims to delve into the intersection of spirituality and power exchange relationships, specifically the Master/slave (M/s) dynamic, as a pathway for personal growth and spiritual exploration.

Let’s Get Radical About how the Truth Being open and honest is essential in a power exchange dynamic, but sometimes it’s easier to say “I’m fine” rather than sharing what may be upsetting you. But little white lies have a way of growing into resentment and frustration. How do we foster vulnerability and forgiveness to have the difficult conversations that help us grow in our dynamics? Together we will discuss skills and practices that help encourage honesty at all times through the practice of radical honesty and forgiveness. Master Leather Redux and Raea will share both their personal challenges and successes with radical honesty and forgiveness. Additionally, they will share how the practice of radical honesty and forgiveness helps to heal older wounds around shame and guilt that may be getting in the way of alignment in our dynamics. 

 

How do we cope when it isn’t going well and yet you are still completely committed to your power exchange.

What do we do when we hit a wall, a blockade or resistance? Owning the fact that blockades and resistance aren’t just submissive issues.

As a submissive who is trying really hard to surrender – and you have a moment or an event where you just don’t want to. How do you get through that wall – what strategies do you employ for yourself?

As a dominant person you are working with someone who has hit a wall and doesn’t want to obey/proceed in the manner you have asked them to. How do you move them through this block – balancing your respect for them, the need to proceed and your own emotional responses to their resistance (both good and bad responses). What strategies do you employ for yourself, for them and for both of you?

This is an open discussion that might be of interest to all people who strive towards successful authority-based relations.

Choosing to step into an authority-based relationship based on a Master/slavery model is no small choice, and it is most definitely not for everyone.  Learning to honestly assess whether you belong on this path, as a way of living, is something that takes time, commitment, brutal personal assessment and constant striving.

In an open discussion let’s talk about how we assess whether this is your path.  Let’s also touch on how we hone our skills and improve ourselves as Masters on that path to remain true to our goals and our partners.

Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to others, or low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity. Discussing the different circumstances and/or preferences people may have that lead them to be in asexual dynamics and what these dynamics may look like.

This presentation takes a journey through the evolution of Gorean ideals, starting with the Chronicles of Gor novels, exploring their impact on Gorean communities, and finally delving into how these philosophies are applied in real-world Total Power Exchange (TPE) relationships. It’s about moving beyond fantasy to build meaningful, authentic dynamics rooted in the Gorean way of life.

 

In this two-part class, participants attend a mandatory first class in which they discover the essential elements to building and delivering a successful workshop. In the second part of the series, participants are encouraged to “pitch” or present a 10-minute synopsis of their workshop before a panel of experienced judges. The winner chosen will be announced and offered an opportunity to present at the following year’s conference.

Participants will learn traits and characteristics of successful presenters. They will also explore what elements are included in a dynamic and successful workshop or class. Tips on public presentation and speaking are included. Lastly, participants will be encouraged to create and present a 10-minute overview of their workshop concept at the Shark Tank Mock Panel.

Those who participated in part one will be invited to present their 10-minute overview in front of an audience and a panel of judges. They will receive positive feedback immediately verbally from the judges and written critiques at the end of the workshop. A winner will be chosen from the participants, announced, and offered an opportunity to present at the following year’s conference.
