We’ll talk about this difficult subject which occurs more often than we’d like to believe.

What is sex like when you’re dealing with power exchange? How do you negotiate it, whether for a night of playing with power or a lifestyle of committed relationship inequality? How do we deal with tricky issues of consent around sex, rape, fantasy and reality, and power dynamics? What about sexual service, and making sure that both dominant and submissive types stay emotionally and sexually healthy? Those of us who live with our own mental health challenges are often labeled neurodivergent – meaning we process and respond to situations and information in ways that differ from the norm. For many of us, this divergence can create significant barriers to intimacy and our ability to connect to one another. In this class, Beast and Echo will talk about the way these barriers have impacted their relationship, and the tools and strategies they’ve developed that allow two neurodivergent individuals to create a NeuroConvergent dynamic.

For various reasons, those in the kink, BDSM, and Leather communities often find themselves without the support of their blood family. Fortunately, we have the freedom to choose our own families and create our support structures. As a community, we have stepped up our game in recent years regarding consent. More classes and conversations are happening about consent and consent culture than ever. Despite that, the lifestyle is full of humans – imperfect and fallible, and humans sometimes do terrible things. What we haven’t done a lot of yet, is talk about how to handle these situations in a constructive and healing way. That’s left us to be reactive when something happens, which often makes the damage from these situations that much worse as we struggle to figure out how to heal in the middle of the drama and tragedy. This class considers a restorative justice approach to attempt to repair the damage caused by consent violations and lay out a plan for how we heal as individuals, partners, and a community.

Being neurodivergent encompasses many areas of life. It can cause challenges with learning styles, perceptions in the world, and complicate mental health challenges. In this presentation, we will discuss how we have used protocols and rituals to build on our strengths and allow our dynamic to be setup for success while allowing ourselves to thrive and grow. We also discuss ideas to allow you to lean into your dynamic while navigating the challenges of the world while being neurodivergent.

As we walk through the seasons of life, health and growing older can alter what we are able to provide. Local chapters are the lifeblood of MAsT International and the primary vehicle through which the organization fulfills its mission of providing education and support for those interested in consensual Master/slave relationships. Every one of those chapters were started by someone like you with a passion for community service and a desire to create a space for connection and support to others interested in M/s.
