Solo Dominances, Submission, and Surrender

Q

Are you drawn to power exchange, dominance, or submission, but are not in a relationship? Are you long distance from a partner and want ways to connect with your identity without them around? Are mastery, dominance, submission, or surrender part of your spiritual path regardless of other humans being involved? In this discussion we will examine the concepts around Solo D/s, then explore psychological, energetic, and physical ways to dive on in. Whether you yourself identify on either “side” of these dynamics, or are curious about adding auto-erotic D/s play and dynamics to your kink repertoire, join us for this collective exploration.

Lee Harrington

Conscious Inequality, Dominance, and Submission

Q

Power permeates our every interpersonal interaction, from how we interact with the grocery clerk to our kink in the bedroom, and there is a difference between unconscious and conscious power use. However, in a variety of alternative sexuality and BDSM populations, these concepts are eroticized, often glossing over the context where these consensual erotic power plays come from. Let’s examine where power arises unconsciously or through oppression in culture, various types of power exchange dynamics, and why people would want to engage in them (for an evening, a long-term connection or between lifetimes). This will include conscious and unconscious roles, bonding within relationships, and even destructive behaviors. Power is power, but inequality is not inequity, so let us look at this together with eyes wide open.

Service that Actually Serves US: Giving and Receiving what WE Really Want

Q

Are you sick of being asked to scrub the toilet as if your partner expects you to cum each time you do it for them? Does having your Submissive shave their balls three times a day actually help you live a full and fulfilling life? Let’s get down and dirty – talking about and working through exercises on establishing what service we really want, what we are able to give, and what drives us in service from all sides. Is it about effort, quality of outcome, detailed delivery, results, our resources expended… or getting hard/wet? Service is not just provided by Slaves and Submissive or Surrendering individuals – Masters, Mistresses, Mommies, Daddies, Boys, Girls, Lovers, and Friends will also get a chance to look at their desires and see what actually gets them what they actually desire.

The Decision to be Out

Q

What can you gain from being out? What does ‘being out’ really mean? How can you do it, feel good about yourself and still be safe? Eckhart is out but not “in-your-face” so she will discuss how those two conditions can be fairly easily maintained with a clear and happy conscious while protecting your job, your family, and yourself.

Your Plan for a Successful D/s or M/s Relationship – Intensive (An Intensive For Single/Unpartnered Individuals Seeking A Dynamic)

Q

This program is for single people who struggle to find a M/s or D/s partner for more than play. This personal workshop will help each participant consider what they want and develop a plan for how they can begin to work on preparing for a successful relationship of the Ds or Ms variety. It is for single people, not folks already in an M/s or D/s dynamic. The presenter, active in the Scene for 34 years and the proud owner of one slave for 25 years, will ask provocative questions and help folks think and write out their needs, desires, limits, and self-reflections. Finally, each participant will create a plan to follow to start preparing themselves for a Ds relationship. The plan is focused on the individual and not on finding a partner or creating a structure for a relationship because any successful endeavor must start with the individual first.

Reclaiming Your Powers – A Journey of Healing From Abuse

Q

This is a lecture and mini-workshop expanding upon Eckhart’s essay, “Claiming My Nine Powers,” in Kintsugi – Powerful Stories of Sexual Healing, 2019. Eckhart will discuss her own journey from abused child to successful dominant in a master-slave relationship as a way to give hope to those in the kinky community who are struggling with their own recovery. She will offer advice and encouragement for anyone at any stage of their healing with candor and empathy.

Mash-Up! Managing multiple power exchange partnerships

Q

Sheila has a sub. And a slave. The slave is also a switch. A switch that tops a puppy. A puppy who owns a boi. A boi who dates Sheila. Join Dan & dawn, who between them have a variety of power exchange (as well as polyamorous and vanilla) relationships as they discuss tools to help navigate multiple partner power exchange and alt relationships. The answer might start with time management and physical logistics, but heart management and sexy logistics need to be accounted for too!

Dan & dawn Williams

Kneel for me slave…except on Tuesdays; Rituals and Protocols

Q

Join Dan & dawn as they lead a workshop and discussion on actualizing protocol and ritual in your power exchange relationship. Both rituals and protocols can be a great way to keep your foundation strong, avoid complacency, and be a turn on. They can also be of benefit if you are more ‘relaxed’ power exchange. This call will also discuss general protocols (such as Leather).

Raven Kaldera and Joshua Tenpenny

Developing Consistency in Power Dynamic Relationships

Q

It’s a familiar story—the power exchange relationship starts out with all sorts of good intentions, rules and protocols. Then the s-type finds out that’s harder than they thought to keep up, and the M-type finds out that it’s harder than they thought to notice and keep tabs on failures, and before you know it, everything crashes down in a pile of recriminations. This class will troubleshoot that problem, along with the underlying assumptions that allow it to happen, and give (hopefully) useful tips on how both parties can improve.

Raven Kaldera and Joshua Tenpenny

Supporting A Master In Crisis

Q

Masters go through terrible situations as well, from ill health to job loss to grieving loved ones. Many current community ideals show the master as being the rock which never crumbles, and slaves who buy into that sometimes can’t deal when the master shows themselves to be not only human but breakable. How can s-types be supportive of their M-types in a way that doesn’t undermine the power dynamic, or make the M-type want to withdraw? We’ll talk about this difficult subject which occurs more often than we’d like to believe.

Raven Kaldera and Joshua Tenpenny

Sex and Power Exchange

Q

What is sex like when you’re dealing with power exchange? How do you negotiate it, whether for a night of playing with power or a lifestyle of committed relationship inequality? How do we deal with tricky issues of consent around sex, rape, fantasy and reality, and power dynamics? What about sexual service, and making sure that both dominant and submissive types stay emotionally and sexually healthy? We’ll talk about navigating the muddy waters of sex when power imbalances are involved, to any level of intensity … and we’ll also talk about how damn hot it can be.

Raven Kaldera and Joshua Tenpenny

Healthy Objectification in M/s Relationships

Q

People hear the word “objectification” and immediately tend to think of masters who don’t care about their mistreated slaves. For some of us, however, objectification not only adds a lot of heat to the relationship, it’s a way to reinforce the power dynamic in small ways on a daily basis. Some may hate it, but those of us who love it know its power, and we know it can be used in a healthy way. We’ll discuss how to do that, and how “being your master’s thing” can support the dynamic and be a source of comfort as well.

Dr. Richard Sprott

What’s the point? Discussing the goals of M/s relationships

Q

M/s is a journey – but where are you going?  This discussion will explore different endpoints possible for M/s relationships, including fun/pleasure, personal growth, or making the world a better place.  Different endpoints will mean different ways of establishing rituals, commands and protocols, and the path of the journey will affect how Mistress/Master and slave take that journey together.  This is a chance to talk about the bigger picture and how that affects your identity as a slave or Master/Mistress.

Dr. Richard Sprott

The Psychology of Dominance – Latest scientific research

Q

Psychology and Sociology have been studying the mindset and behavior of social dominance for a long time, and have some insights into what makes Dominance different from bullying, egocentrism, and sociopathy.  This presentation will discuss these findings and we will explore together how it relates – or doesn’t relate – to Dominance as we practice it.

Dr. Richard Sprott

Psychobiology of SM – mind-body connections in SM activities

Q

This presentation covers the latest research in neuroscience, psychoneuroimmunology, personality factors such as sensation-seeking, and the endocrine system and how these latest findings might apply to BDSM.   Why do some techniques work to raise the pain threshold of some people?  Are some of the typical behaviors of a submissive or Dominant grounded in biological systems? The presentation presents some key ideas and practical suggestions that are grounded in both old and new insights into how the mind and body interact.

Dr. Richard Sprott

Black and Blues: X-Drop (sub drop, Top drop, event drop)

Q

Some people after an intense scene or after an excellent weekend event, will experience a range of emotional states that can include feeling depressed, empty, abandoned or disconnected.  We will explore some ideas of what’s going on, exploring psychobiological explanations, grief/bereavement, and how these might be related to peak erotic experiences and personal growth.

The Goddess Indigo

E.M.P.O.W.E.R. The Feminine (Women’s Class)

Q

The feminine is often seen as weakness in our society. As women, can we be both feminine and powerful? How does that power translate for both sides of the slash?  Is it possible to be powerful and submit? Yes, it is from a place of power that true surrender will arise. Can we be both feminine and powerful? Not only is it possible, but embracing both actually increases and sustains our power. Join The Goddess as we explore misconceptions of female power, strong female archetypes and how to realize our potential to be the self-actualized, fully-faceted and supremely potent feminine self we are meant to be. Integrating all parts of ourselves, i.e. living authentically and with integrity allows us to take control and master our own lives so we can more successfully accept surrender from our partners or surrender to our partners. Find your direction, your path and your potential. Renew your drive, your passion and your spirit. E.M.P.O.W.E.R. The Feminine.

“Transparency: It’s Not So Transparent”

Q

Transparency is often a requirement in authority exchange relationships. Thought it sound simple enough, it can often be a challenging and transformational act of surrender critical to a relationship’s success. In this class, Tomo and Levi will talk about how transparency has been an essential part of their authority exchange, as well as the difficulties they have encountered putting this value into practice. And practice. And more practice. They will share the benefits of ensuring that the leader is equipped with solid information, practical insights for overcoming key barriers to transparency, and more than a few stories about their path together.

Tomo

Resistance is Welcome

Q

Resistance is a natural occurrence in a relationship that exchanges authority.  How we manage resistance as both Master and slave can either divide us or provide an opportunity for engagement.  In this class, we will explore resistance from the Master’s perspective and discuss how as leaders we react to resistance and how we can manage it from a place of power and authority.  We will also explore why resistance happens from the slave’s viewpoint and suggest that rather than offer resistance, we can communicate and then surrender our struggle.  Join Tomo for this engaging discussion and discover how we might transform perceived opposition in authority exchange relationships to growth.

Middle Management

Q

There are times that a slave may be required to manage another.  Perhaps there is a need to train a newcomer to the household, manage a person in service while you are yourself in service, or many other possible scenarios.  As we add people, we add joy and also complication.  Having experienced this middle management scenario extensively, Tomo will share his thoughts on the benefits (spoiler alert: ITS HOT!), possible dangers, and how to define and create success for everyone involved.

Getting It Done – 10 Steps to Being an Organized and Effective slave

Q

Ever wonder how some people get so much done in a day?  Have you ever been overwhelmed as a slave with the many tasks and responsibilities asked of you? Puzzled how some seem to have more hours in a day than you do?  The key is not having more time, but instead making the best use of the time you have.  In this class, Tomo will share his secrets to juggling many balls in the air at once, how to get a tremendous amount of work done, and doing it all in an organized and effective way.

Accepting Surrender: Mastering a slave that is not submissive

Q

Is your slave one of the many who possess the A type personality? Are they leaders, outgoing, or constantly on the go? Do you feel like there are times that they need to be held back for their own good? If so, please join Master David as he shares his experiences in learning how to work with a slave who is a leader in the vanilla world. He will dive into what worked for him, and give you tips and tricks for putting their natural skills and tendencies to use. The goal is for you to leave with ideas on how to work with their skills, instead of against them, and to support your slave as they find themselves through their surrender.

We Don’t Always Agree: Navigating Difference of Opinions in a M/s Dynamic (a facilitated discussion)

Q

In this discussion, we will talk about navigating your Master/slave and interpersonal dynamics when Master and slave disagree on fundamental issues. Some ideas we may explore: How do you navigate differences in social, political, religious, or other views? How much alignment is necessary to have a harmonious relationship? Is agree to disagree a viable option in a Master/slave dynamic? Does slave have to agree with Master?

Master Taíno

Mentoring the Masters and the slaves

Q

One important tool in the process of learning about the Master/slave dynamic is finding a mentor. Both Masters and slaves can benefit from being under the guidance of a good mentor.

The Master/slave community has been exposed in the Internet during the last decade and it has brought an incredible interest for the Dominant/submissive lifestyle. Many newcomers are learning the hard way and many people end up hurt physically or emotionally in the process.

Master Taíno will address the need to mentor newcomers, the different ways to achieve it and how experienced leather community members can become mentors. The presentation will be suitable to those interested in becoming mentors as those in need of it. This presentation will encourage questions and discussion from the attendees.

NeuroConvergent: Creating Harmony in Your Dynamic From the Discord of Mental Health Challenges

Q

Those of us who live with our own mental health challenges are often labeled neurodivergent – meaning we process and respond to situations and information in ways that differ from the norm. For many of us, this divergence can create significant barriers to intimacy and our ability to connect to one another. In this class, Beast and Echo will talk about the way these barriers have impacted their relationship, and the tools and strategies they’ve developed that allow two neurodivergent individuals to create a NeuroConvergent dynamic.

The House That Leather Built: Leather and Choosing Your Own Destiny

Q

For various reasons, those in the kink, BDSM, and Leather communities often find themselves without the support of their blood family. Fortunately, we have the freedom to choose our own families and create our support structures. In this class, Beast shares his Leather journey and how it led to the formation of the Leather House, Maison de Beast. He will provide a historical view of why and how Leather Houses and Leather Families began, how they function, and why many are drawn to join them. Beast will also explore practical options for those wishing to join or create one. This class is an interactive discussion; questions and participation are encouraged.

Where Do We Go From Here? Healing and Recovery in the Wake of Consent Violations

Q

As a community, we have stepped up our game in recent years regarding consent. More classes and conversations are happening about consent and consent culture than ever. Despite that, the lifestyle is full of humans – imperfect and fallible, and humans sometimes do terrible things. What we haven’t done a lot of yet, is talk about how to handle these situations in a constructive and healing way. That’s left us to be reactive when something happens, which often makes the damage from these situations that much worse as we struggle to figure out how to heal in the middle of the drama and tragedy. This class considers a restorative justice approach to attempt to repair the damage caused by consent violations and lay out a plan for how we heal as individuals, partners, and a community.

Stumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones

Q

Don Miguel Ruiz said, “We search for everything we believe we don’t have, not knowing that everything we are looking for is already inside us. We are born with it.”

We all know what it is like when we feel there is a barrier between where we are in life and where we want to be. For Ms. Kelly Chance and her slave boi D, the most significant lesson learned on their respective BDSM/Leather journey is that the primary barriers have been the stories we tell ourselves. Join Ms. Kelly, as she explores what is merely at story, how stories can limit growth, where they come from, and what we can do when we realize we are in control of our own story. Ms. Kelly and slave boi D will discuss methods she has used to help let go of self-limiting stories and free the erotic self. This workshop will utilize their journeys, as well as yours, to help each other discover what is possible. Let’s turn our stumbling blocks into stepping stones to fulfilling relationships and our unique erotic selves.

Challenging Conversations in Authority Transfer Relationships

Q

In an M/s or D/s relationship, good communication is a cornerstone in the foundation of the relationship.   In a power exchange relationship, communication requires unique channels, methods, and tools to ensure the dynamic is maintained and yet everyone is on the same page. For many, learning how to communicate feelings, resolve conflicts, and share with each other is a challenging undertaking.  By establishing a better dialogue with your partner and learning how to share your feelings and address issues with less conflict, it will be possible to create a relationship that is healthier, more resilient, and more emotionally fulfilling.

Synergizing Growth: Navigating Dynamics for Success

Q

Creating a prototype is like laying the foundation for a building. A functional prototype is great; it’s your proof of concept, your starting point. But here’s the catch: emulating someone else’s dynamic prototype, while it may seem tempting, can often lead to missed nuances and unexpected pitfalls. Why? Because dynamics are customizable, and so are their foundations. In this course we will guide you through the art of making your prototype your own, tailored to the unique needs of your dynamic, rather than attempting to mimic someone else’s – a path that can potentially lead to failure.

Slaveheart for the Reluctant slave

Q

In this thought-provoking 90 minute presentation, we delve into the intriguing concept of “slaveheart for the Reluctant slave.”

This presentation is meant to explore the idea of not just willingly embracing the role of a slave, but joyously doing so and finding true fulfillment in it as an empowered and conscious choice, i.e. slaveheart. Further, what does it look like to have a “slaveheart” as a reluctant slave, who either struggled to find their footing at the beginning or struggles even now to fully embrace slavehood?

Through a combination of interactive discussions, thought exercises, and engaging visual aids, participants will embark on a journey of self-reflection and intellectual exploration. The class will address the following key aspects:

Understanding the Distinction: We will unpack the conscious choice to not just embrace slavehood, but to find true joy in it. We will strive to open the door to deeper conversations.

Through group activities and guided exercises, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own sense of agency and autonomy in finding slaveheart. By exploring the power dynamics inherent in various social structures, we will challenge conventional notions of freedom and choice.

Throughout the class, participants will be encouraged to share their perspectives, provide critical insights, and engage in respectful dialogue. This inclusive and intellectually stimulating environment will help participants challenge their own assumptions, broaden their horizons, and develop a nuanced understanding of servitude and its implications.

Join us as we delve into the complexities of embracing servitude for the reluctant slave and uncover new perspectives on personal freedom, choice, and self-transformation.

Through engaging discussions, introspective exercises, and meaningful insights, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of a few key aspects, as follows:

We will begin by delving into the concept of power exchange as a sacred practice found across various spiritual traditions. Participants will explore the potential for spiritual growth, self-transcendence, and transcendental connections through consensual power dynamics.

Conscious Partnerships: This segment will examine how spiritual individuals can engage in conscious partnerships utilizing the M/s dynamic as a means to deepen their spiritual journeys. Participants will explore the roles of trust, surrender, reverence, and servitude in fostering spiritual growth and connection within a consensual power exchange framework.

Care Work, Community and Collective Visioning

Q

The past few years have been difficult for all of us, and in a rapidly changing and often traumatizing world, it’s important to take opportunities for collective visioning. In this workshop, we will take concepts and ideas from care work as a vehicle to discuss, dream, and conspire to create a community that better meets our needs.

Care work is defined as “Labor done out of affection or a sense of responsibility for other people. Care work is often used as a framework in discussions about disability and gender inclusion but can prove helpful in creating stronger, more aware communities anywhere.

How to Start a MAsT Chapter

Q

Local chapters are the lifeblood of MAsT International and the primary vehicle through which the organization fulfills its mission of providing education and support for those interested in consensual Master/slave relationships. Every one of those chapters were started by someone like you with a passion for community service and a desire to create a space for connection and support to others interested in M/s.

Master Rodin, the President of MAsT International, and slavegirl j, the Membership Director, will be here to answer questions and assist those wanting to learn more about forming a MAsT Chapter in their communities.

While not necessary to attend, consider reviewing the documentation found on the How To Form A MAsT Chapter page at MAsT.net and compile any questions you may have.

The Relationship Cycle – Conscious Relationships and Attuning with your Partner(s)

Q

There are five phases of relationships, and your M/s dynamic is not exempt. In this discussion, we will identify and define the five phases. We will also share tools to help determine which phase of the relationship you are currently in, and how to seek support during each phase to maintain a healthy relationship cycle. We will share our thoughts on how to promote longevity in your dynamic, from making a conscious effort to take things slowly, and knowing when to say when.

We’ll discuss ways to identify what does or does not work for you and your partner(s). This discussion will be one you don’t want to miss.

Female Domination: Empowering Women to Lead!

Q

Women-Led dynamics have always had a significant place in not only historical influences but have had cultural impact as well. From royal dynasties to empirical rule, women have always possessed the ability to stimulate change and sometimes to even incite war. While not the standard hetero-normative relationship construct within what is seen as “modern” era, women have continued to demonstrate the powerful force of Female Energy and their ability to dominate their partners and their societies.

Join Master PlaineJane for a discussion on Female Led Relationships (FLR) throughout history, their effect on cultural and historical norms, and how women have always had the power to change, impact, and influence our community and partners. PlaineJane will explore types of domination to include; sexual, mental, physical, financial, and emotional from a Female Master’s and/or Dominant’s perspective. She will also discuss ways to empower and inspire female energy in relationships, scenes, and as community leaders.
